Thanks to Real Girl Runway for today's Friday's Fancies Guest Post!
I love high fashion. The idea of being able to pick anything I'd like with an unlimited budget would be amazing. Living and working in the DC area means that I'm involved in lots of fundraising events. I attend political and charity fundraisers. My style is adventurous at times but I also have to consider the event and the attendees. I usually go for flair with accessories and maybe one item of clothing. Then balance the ensemble with other more classic items.
1. A classic tuxedo jacket will never go out of style. It's formal and polished. Balmain is amazing with their detail.
2. A silk blouse with detail can go under a jacket or be worn alone. This one is both sexy and sophisticated.
3. Sequins are the ultimate in evening attire. Getting noticed is key in DC, but for the right reasons. A sequin skirt with the tuxedo jacket is daring but still appropriate.
4. Statement earrings are called for with this ensemble. Diamonds really are a girl's best friend. These are eye catching and will keep the attention on your face and smile all night.
5. Alexander McQueen is irreverant. This clutch does it in an understated way. The skull will have people giving double takes all night.
6. Nudes platforms are super sexy but subtle. The Laboutin signature red sole is a statement.
All of these pieces are amazing, if only I had the budget. On Real Girl Runway, I adapt outfits for all sizes and those without limitless budgets. Most of us don't have an endless bank account. Finding great style for less and in your size is key. Here is my Friday's Fancies, Frugal Edition.
1. A classic tuxedo jacket from Top Shop for $135. It can be worn to all sort of occasions. I love pairing mine with jeans and a cute tee for a night out with friends.
2. A ruffle blouse from Kohl's $36. This top can go anywhere, fun, work, evenings.
3. Sequin skirt in all sizes from HSN, $70. Dress this down by wearing it with a solid color tee or top and flats.
4. Statement Earrings (Time Square Earrings), JewelMint $29. Statement earrings for $29! Wow! Wear them with a simple LBD for dinner out.
5. Box clutch, Loris Shoes $48. You can use a classic black clutch forever. It will not go out of style.
6. Nude platform mary janes, Top Shop $100. These will make you legs go on for miles. The nude color will go with everything.
Total outfit cost: $298 (Less than the cost of the shoes alone, in the outfit above.)
