What are the most common mistakes you see people making?
Dorothy:
Over tweezing the brows! Eyebrows are such an intricate key to the overall look. If you have thin brows fill them in. Don't be afraid to have a strong brow. Sometimes I just want to look at people and say STEP AWAY from the TWEEZERS!
GalTime Houston:
What are quick fixes that work for any face?
Dorothy:
Concealer! A good concealer can make you look refreshed after a long day. Also, using your concealer AFTER you do your eye makeup to "clean up" any fallen shadow. It will also define the eye makeup you just worked so hard on.
Also, a great gloss ... adding a great lip shade of glass can brighten any smile while still looking natural.
GalTime Houston:
With spring approaching, how can we change up the look of our makeup to match our seasonal wardrobe?
Dorothy:
Keeping base eye colors neutral will help. I'm not just talking about browns, tans, ect. ALL colors have a neutral shade. So if you keep your shadows in a neutral shade they can follow you from season to season. Put your seasonal pop into a new gloss or lip color or fun fashion eye liner.
GalTime Houston:
Help! I need a professional to get me out of my makeup rut. What do I do?
Dorothy:
Do your research! Make sure they have a portfolio you can view. If the makeup doesn't look good in the pictures, you can be fairly sure it didn't look good in person. Ask them if their pictures were edited. Photoshop can make things look so different you can't be sure what was the artist's work and what was edited. Know what kind of look you are wanting and are comfortable with. TALK to your artists! Tell her your likes and dislikes. The more information you can give to your artists the more tools she has to customize a look just for you
