The Beauty Gal Review: Colgate Optic White | Beauty

The Beauty Gal Review: Colgate Optic White
The Beauty Gal Review: Colgate Optic White

You may not wear foundation or lipstick. You might pass on eyeshadow. Heck, maybe mascara isn’t your cup of tea. But one thing’s for sure…everybody uses toothpaste!

I’m a fan of the kind that multi-tasks, one that whitens, prevents cavities, and makes my mouth feel minty fresh. So when Colgate offered me a sample of its latest creation, Optic White, I had my trusty electric toothbrush ready.

This toothpaste contains the same active ingredient as over-the-counter teeth whitening kits: hydrogen peroxide. It promises to give you pearlier whites after just 7 days, with results that improve with daily use each week. Brighter teeth without those goopy strips? Yes, please!

I’ve never been one to get excited about toothpaste, but Optic White literally blew me away. Its minty taste is strong and almost Listerine-like, perfect for combatting the dreaded morning breath. (Plus, I like knowing that my toothpaste is getting down to business!) It created a bubbly foam that filled my mouth and hit all the nooks and crannies. To be honest, my mouth has never felt so clean. Even after a few cups of coffee, my tongue and teeth still feel “happy.”

As for Optic White’s whitening power, I'm happy to report that I did notice a change. It wasn't a dramatic one, but my chompers were definitely more "glowy," and that’s saying a lot for a java lover like me!

Colgate Optic White has a suggested retail price of $4.29 for a 5.5oz tube and $3.79 for a 4.0 oz tube. It will be available for purchase at mass retail, drug and grocery stores in September.
