All eyes are on big, bold brows…think Brooke Shields, especially circa Blue Lagoon. I, for one, am lusting for them, but a recent “brow-tastrophe” has those hairs more beanpole than bushy. The good news? There’s a method to this year’s brow madness. It may take a bit of work to plump them up, but statement–making eyebrows are within your reach! Natalie Gee, Brow Expert at Gee Beauty, shows us how to get fabulous face-framers.
Hands Off: You can look, but you can’t touch! For at least 2-3 weeks, let your brows grow in naturally. The key is to let them take on a shape of their own. The more natural looking they are, the closer you are to achieving the trend. (If you are addicted to tweezers, and you just can’t wait that long, consult a brow specialist.)
Golden Arches: Once you’ve reached “bushy” status, consult a brow specialist, who can help perfect the shape. Make sure you explain exactly what you are looking for. Use words like “thick” and “natural”, rather than “archy” or “thin.”
Pencil Me In: Brow pencils or shadows are the perfect tool for filling in any bare patches, or for giving your brow a darker hue. Gee likes pencils with a brow brush on the end because they allow you to blend color easily. (We love Damone Roberts Brow Shadow, $20, and YBF Automatic Universal Taupe Eyebrow Pencil, $20.)

Monthly Maintenance: The key to maintaining the look is to have an "eyebrow” routine. The hair up there usually grows on a four-week cycle, so try to schedule monthly appointments with your favorite brow guru. Try not to wait any longer than 8 weeks. Pre-book your next appointment when you’ve finished your last. That way, you won’t forget!
At-Home Help: Tweeze any strays daily or weekly, depending on how much growth you have. Aim to tweeze in natural light, and try not to pluck too close to the brows, or in the middle. That way, you won’t re-shape them by mistake!
