When it comes to “nailing” spring’s top trends, don’t forget the finishing touch: a fabulous, mani or pedi! From shape and length to color and design, we’ve got you covered from tips to toes!
Shape Up: Round is all the rage this season, and keep it clean, ladies...Celebrity Nail Artist Jin Soon Choi says short to medium length nails are tops.
Color Me Beautiful: Bright, vibrant colors were splattered on spring runways, but they aren’t just reserved for clothes! Accessorize your hands with vivid, saturated shades like fuschia, coral and orange. Choi says these fashion-forward brights are vibrant, but not neon.

Pretty in Pastels: Polish up on pastels with hues like pale pink, lavender, and Tiffany box blue. Celebrity manicurist Skyy Hadley says some of her favorites for the season are Essie shades like French Affair, Coat Azure and Nice is Nice. For a bit of sparkle, Hadley suggests placing a single jewel in the center of each index finger. It will look sophisticated, without being over-the-top.

Back To Basics: At the other end of the spectrum, neutral hues like beige and nude are timelessly elegant, yet modern. Another plus? Choi says they can easily be worn by those who don’t want anything too dramatic.

Chanel is Chic: Chanel is known for its trend-defining nail lacquers. In Fall 2009, Le Vernis Jade sold out in a snap and was going for upwards of $100 on eBay. For Spring 2011, Black Pearl (a metallic gray-green) is the brand’s “it” color. Get your hands on a bottle now…before it sells out!

Mix It Up:Don’t be afraid to pick two different polishes, one for your fingers and one for your toes. Think complementary shades, or a nude/beige and a bright.
