Tips For Pulling Off Floral Prints
Tips For Pulling Off Floral Prints
Old Navy Printed Racerback Tank, $19.94

By Liz Lange and Jane Wagman, Shopafrolic.com

Spring and summer are all about florals, a trend which really harkens back to the 1960s (think Mad Men.)

There are so many ways to embrace flower power, from donning blooms head-to-toe to throwing on a single, feminine accent. Here are some tips:

  • Go matchy-matchy. Wear floral capris (or jeans) with a matching floral print top. (You can pull it off. Promise!)

Zara Printed Trousers, $79.90

  • Mix things up by pairing patterns. Florals look great with stripes (It works!). Simply choose a stripe in the same color palette as your print.

  • What’s more feminine than a floral dress? We love the fit and flare styles that seem lifted straight out of Joan or Betty's wardrobe. And a printed pencil skirt with a solid top and nude shoes is a timeless and elegant look.

ModCloth Floral Palate Dress, $54.99

  • If florals scare you, go for a smaller-scaled print and work it back to a solid. When in doubt, a black or neutral hue always works. Even a floral cardigan worn over a white blouse is a simple and chic way to embrace the trend.  (You can even find floral blazers!)
