We’re all about a healthy glow, but let’s face it: a little bit of shine goes a long way. Too much oil is never a good thing.
Blotting papers, you had a good run, but we’re going to have to bench you. A new crop of products have made a play for our hearts. They contain something called mattifying agents and are aimed at soaking up the grease.
“They either serve to decrease the amount of sebum, or oil production in the skin, or alternatively they act as something like a liquid sponge” says Dr. Ranella Hirsch with the American Academy of Dermatology.
These superhero shine fighters are popping up in everything from sunscreen to powders to acne treatments. Dr. Hirsch says that’s good news for you _and_ your man!
“We really find that men are not comfortable using something like a makeup to cover their face during the day but with the ability to absorb shine built into a sunscreen for example or an anti acne treatment, we really open the door to having this very vexing problem dealt with for a very large array of consumers.”
