The Sun Smart Girl's Guide To Bronzer
The Sun Smart Girl's Guide To Bronzer

Summer is in full swing, and most of us are trying to be sun smart. But let’s face it, everyone looks better with a sun kissed glow! Here's how to use your bronzer and get that glow without the guilt!

1. Before you put anything on, you’ve got to take it off...the dull skin, that is. Get a gentle exfoliator and gently scrub away any dry flakes. This will prep and brighten your skin, even before you put makeup on! A few to try are L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub, Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula, or my favorite, Mario Badescu Almond and Honey Face Scrub.

2. Next, put an oil-free moisturizer all over your face and let it penetrate for at least one minute. This will allow your makeup to glide on more smoothly.

3. When choosing a bronzer you want to consider your skin type and tone. Dry skin will do best with a cream bronzer, like NARS The Multiple. This oil-free, creamy stick comes in several great shades, including a few shimmery options. Simply dot the color in a "C" shape from the apple of your cheek to your temple, and blend with your ring finger until you get the desired intensity. The more you blend, the softer it will look. For even more glow, add a bit to the crease of your eyes, too. Skin that is more oily will look fresh with a layer of translucent powder, followed by a powder bronzer in a neutral tone. One of the most universally flattering bronzers is Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess. Apply with a fluffy blush brush in the shape of a "3," starting at the temple and ending at the jawline.

4. Finish your look with a shimmery peach lip gloss, and everyone will think you spent the weekend basking in the sun!
