This is a question I researched in-depth for The Bra Book. After two researchers published a book in the ‘90’s citing a study they did that linked bras to breast cancer, this has been a hot topic. I interviewed some of the top doctors in the world to get their thoughts, and ultimately, everyone said that there is no MEDICAL evidence linking bras to instances of breast cancer. One thing many experts do believe is that wearing a very tight bra could have negative health implications, especially for nursing women (constant compression against sensitive milk ducts can cause a painful infection known as Mastitis).
