Embrace The Rain, Portland. Embrace The Wellie! | Beauty

Embrace The Rain, Portland. Embrace The Wellie!
Embrace The Rain, Portland. Embrace The Wellie!

Oh, the rain, the rain, the rain.  We don't get tired of talking about the rain here in Portland, and the rest of the world doesn't either.  We know.  This weekend marked our beloved weather debut and we were thrown into "embracing the rain", or as I say, "bracing for the rain".

Any season change is made more fun by the resurrection of a wardrobe you were happy to put away 6 months ago.  Boots & more boots is my first grab and haven't skinny jeans made it that much more fun?  Portland rain requires power boots and I won't be sacrificing my Fryes to slosh through power puddles. Rubber boots are both your weather and fashion friend if you pull it off right.

Personally, I'm a classic Wellies girl.
I'd be lying if I didn't say that photo of Kate Moss at Glastonbury
5 years ago didn't get me on the Wellies program and more recently, Jennifer Aniston in those Smart Water ads. Certainly smart enough for me.

Don't worry about getting the real deal if your budget is tight. I've seen some really great generic rubber boots lately at the discount stores, like $20 great.  But keep it classic: solid colors if you plan on rockin' that English countryside-meets-city look! (sorry cute polka dots)
