One of our favorite trends this season is the color blocking craze. What is it exactly? It simply involves combining two or more solid blocks of color in your outfit. The key word here is solid, so put those prints back in the closet! It may sound a bit intimidating to switch out your neutral wardrobe for something more bold, but we promise it is easy to do, and can even be tailored to your own personal taste and style.
There are a number of ways to pull off this head-turning trend. The most effortless option is a dress, jumpsuit, tee, or romper that is already color blocked. Just throw it on and...voila...you are good to go!

You can also mix bright separates to create your own color blocking scheme. (This is our personal favorite!) For example, pair a fuschia blouse with an emerald green mini skirt for an instant, show stopping look. The color combinations are endless! Just remember to stick with shades that flatter your skin tone and make you feel good. Worried your outfit will look too "busy"? Stick to a maximum of three hues.

If you're not ready to ditch the deeper shades completely, try pairing a dark solid and a bright solid. This mixing method is a great way to accentuate your assets and minimize problem areas. A good rule of thumb is to place darker tones on the spots you want to play down. For pear shaped ladies, we suggest keeping darks on the bottom. For apple shapes, keep them up top.
Finally, go bold with accessories! If color blocking your clothes is not your cup of tea, look for a color blocked scarf, sandal, or sun hat to stay on trend, while staying true to your personal style.
