The holidays are upon us, and with them come parties! The weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve are always full of cocktails, food, and little black dresses. So, yesterday I braved the mall and headed to Sephora in order to make you a list of beauty products that are just perfect for the holidays. Here are a few of my favorites.
For Face:
Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in Mat Black, $23
This eyeliner is waterproof and intensely dark, so it’s perfect for creating a classic line that will compliment any outfit or blush/lipcolor combo.
Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black, $14.50
This has always been my favorite mascara. I always referred to it as “the green one” in my head, and their updated tube is even brighter than usual. Perfect for the holiday season! My rule with mascara is that darker is better, so I recommend this product in black.
Nars Blush in Sin, $27
This plum-y blush is so lovely on everyone because it adds color and warmth without being too pink and giving you rosy cheeks. The powder goes on smooth and it stays on all night.
Victoria’s Secret Very Voluptuous Lip Plumper, $18
This lip gloss is perfect if you aren’t interested in touching up your lip color every time you take a sip or a bite of something. It goes on clear and adapts to you to create a natural, rosy tint. And it plumps while it smoothes, so you get that sexy VS Angel pout.
For Body:
Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Triple Moisture Body Cream in Vanilla Bean Noel, $12.50
This lotion is delightfully thick and moisturizing and it actually smells like Christmas. I’ve never encountered a more wonderful vanilla fragrance than in this lotion. It only comes out during the holidays, so I make a point of buying more every year so I’ll never have to live without it.
For Sparkle:
Slumber Parties Diva Dust in Silver, $14
Diva Dust is a shimmery powder that isn’t too glittery for an adult to wear. In fact, it comes from an adult store, so it’s anything but juvenile. Wear it under your brows for a shimmery eye, on your cheeks or across your décolletage.
For Nails:
Essie Nail Polish in Who’s She Red, $8
This is the perfect nail color for not just the holidays, but life in general. It’s a bright red that works with everything. Sprinkle some gold glitter over it if you’re feeling especially festive.
