The fashion and amazing style of the DC area was on full display Friday evening at the ARTisphere in Arlington, Virginia. NOVA Fashion Week hosted the Luxe Lifestyle Event. Attendees were treated to a behind the scenes view of the goings on at NOVA Fashion Week. In addition to this look behind the fashion curtain, we listened to great music performed by Bravenoise, tasted sweet treats by Perfect Pink Cupcakes, sipped Honest Tea, tried on gorgeous baubles from Stella & Dot, and tried organic skin care from Cosmetiques Laudun. NOVA Fashion Week also partnered with the Capital Fashion and Beauty Bloggers (CAPFabb) and Façon magazine to host a panel discussion of local fashion bloggers. The big finale of the evening was the colorful fashion show by Bien Abye and designer Dayanne Danier.
The evening began with socializing while we tried the flavors of Honest Tea and munched on scrumptious cupcakes and cake pops from Perfect Pink Cupcakes. The banana cupcakes were my favorite. Even better was the time spent admiring the outfits of the attendees. Models were not the only ones who looked fantastic walking the room. Amazing outfits, shoes and bags were everywhere.
It was so hard not to rush home with tons of jewelry from Stella & Dot. I met wonderful stylist, Kristin Biggs. She showed me the latest designs by Stella & Dot and I fell in love with the Femme Fatale necklace. The mixed metals are on trend and the chunky chains are very rock n’ roll. The organic face and body products from Cosmetiques Laudun were a hit with lots of ladies. The creams are rich and they have products for men and women. They have lots of great products, everything from the Michargila Argile Cleanser Facial Mask to the Sweet Feet Jasmine Fragrance Repair Foot Crème. I love that they are organic and all natural. Bloggers from the Capital Fashion and Beauty Bloggers (CapFABB) participated in a panel discussion about fashion, trends and style. They discussed their own personal style, trends they were seeing and great ways and places to shop in DC.
The highlight of the evening was the fashion show we’d all been waiting to see. After watching the models have their make-up done, their hair coiffed, and practice their walks, it was time for the true star to arrive, the amazing fashion of Bien Abye by Dayanne Danier. Bold colors, amazing prints and body conscious outfits hit the runway. The printed tops and dresses were my personal favorites. The designs are wearable for us mere mortals and would look great at work or a night out.
The NOVA Fashion Week Luxe Lifestyle Event was a fun night of beauty, fashion, and treats for the mouth and eyes.
