Trend: The Layered Bob | Beauty

Trend: The Layered Bob
Trend: The Layered Bob

The bob is a haircut that never seems to go out of style!

Recently, celebrity trendsetter Victoria Beckham kicked this classic up a notch. Take a look. Her hair is longer in the front, but layered shorter in the back. It frames her face perfectly.

This shaggy bob is proving to be a "cut" above the rest for 2012! And the beauty of it is that it's so simple. Here are some tips for pulling of the look:

1.) The layered bob is a very flattering style for women with longer or heart-shaped faces. If your face is round or square, have your stylist add a bit of fringe to create a softer look.

2.) One of the things that makes this style so versatile is the length. It falls just below the shoulders, so you can still pull it back into a ponytail or clip it up for a chic updo. And here's another plus: The shorter hair in back takes some weight off your neck, keeping you cool when temperatures soar.

3.) You can wear a shaggy bob several ways. During the day, style it like Beckham with some soft waves. For a more playful and sexy look, try using  hot rollers. You can also go sleek and straight for a night out, or add some pretty pins for a little sparkle. A middle or deep part will also change up your look.

4.) One thing to remember with any hairstyle is to keep up with your trims. Some people believe trimming your hair makes it grow faster. What it actually does is get rid of  tired split ends, so your hair looks healthier. Depending on how fast your hair grows, you should get the ends snipped every four to six weeks.
