Outdoor movies have become more popular around Florida. Several cities in our area offer movies under the stars. Right now happens to be the perfect time to see a picture show outside (before it gets much hotter and stickier).
Bring a blanket, chair and a picnic basket for a good and FREE time! Here's a look at where and when you can see some outdoor movies:
Altamonte
The Cranes Roost Sunset Cinema is a free event on the lawn in front of the tower at Cranes Roost Park in Uptown Altamonte. Movies start around 8 p.m. Food and beverage is available for purchase.

Leesburg
Movies in Towne Square are on select Friday nights between January and May. The movies start about 8:30 p.m. at 501 W Main Street.
Friday, May 11th HUGO
Maitland
Movie In The Park at Quinn Strong Park located between Packwood & Ventris Avenues. The family friendly films start at 8:15 p.m. Food is available for purchase.
Saturday, May 12th The Adventures of TinTin

Mount Dora
The 2nd Friday Movie In The Park is held at Donnelly Park in Downtown. The movie starts at dusk and in case of inclement weather movies are shown in the community building. Concessions are available for purchase and support youth scholarships.

Ocoee
Catch dinner and a movie on the 3rd Friday of every month. Several food trucks are there from 6-9 p.m. The movie starts at 8. Movies in the Park is located at Bill Breeze Park at 125 North Lakeshore Drive.
Friday, May 18th The Muppets

Orange City
Movies in the Park takes place on the First Friday of each month. The movies start at 8 p.m.
Friday, June 1st Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Winter Park
Popcorn Flicks in The Park in Central Park located at 251 Park Avenue South.
The movies featured are classic films for the whole family. The events are usually held on the second Thursday of each month and typically start around 8 (or when it’s dark!).

Private Screenings
In Orlando, there are a couple of other fun, private venues to see an outdoor movie. Leu Gardens hosts a date night on the Friday night of the month. It costs $5 + tax for adults and $2 for children. Admission is free for members. Blankets and chairs are recommended. You can bring a picnic basket and alcohol is allowed. The Gardens open at 6:00 p.m. and movie time at 8:30 p.m. Event is weather permitting. The next showing is Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol on Friday, June 1st.
The Enzian holds the "Wednesday Night Pitcher Show." It's a free outdoor movie on the lawn at the Enzian. The next few movies include a showing of Friday on Wednesday, May 9th and From Dusk 'Till Dawn on Wednesday, May 16th. It's free to attend, but no outside food or drinks are allowed.
