After 72 days of marriage, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries today.
The reality TV starlet is not seeking an annulment, and cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split.
The date of separation is listed as October 31st, 2011. Kim hired lawyer Laura Wasser to handle the case.

Ryan Seacrest confirmed the news, writing on twitter:
"Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning..."
A short time later, Kim released an official statement:
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.“

Kim and Kris tied the knot on August 20th in a lavish ceremony that is said to have cost nearly $10 million.
