There is something magical when a whole room sings a familiar song. Voices join together to create a sweet melody…and then there’s your best friend who thinks she is the best as singing “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake. No worries because when you bring your closest friends to gather around two dueling pianos, everything is okay. The Ivory Room Piano Bar on Mifflin Street is the place to be this weekend, especially if you feel the need to sing someplace other than church and where they serve some awesome drinks. A fantastic place for a party to celebrate a new bachelorette, bachelor or birthday, The Ivory Room Piano Bar will have your guests impressed with your party planning skills.
Never been to a dueling piano bar? Picture this: two beautiful pianos up on a stage. As you eat dinner and start with some fun drinks, you collect some of your best song ideas and put in your requests. Hint: the more money accompanying your request, the better chance your song has to be played. Pick songs that people love to sing together or if you’re that annoying/proud alum, go ahead and throw a 50 in with your request of the University of Wisconsin fight song. Then the lights dim, you are on the edge of your seat and the pianist sit at their instruments ready to play the night away. The dueling comes in when a song comes on that someone wants switched, so you take out the cash and request another song. This is fun with all types of songs, but you start going NCAA on the pianos and the cash starts flowing. Trust me. Game day comes and someone throws in some cash to hear the Golden Gopher’s fight song, you better have a fist full of money to have them play “On, Wisconsin!”
Check the Ivory Room’s website for information on specials that include VIP seating and party rooms. Become a fan on Facebook to stay tuned into their daily activities and upcoming events. Now that you’re humming “Here I go again on my own, going down the only road I’ve ever known…” round up some friends and reserve your seats at The Ivory Piano Bar for this weekend!
