There's more than fruit and veggies at the Orlando Farmer's Market at Lake Eola. You can also find good food ... and drink. Steve and Denise Beumer of Earth's Best Beverages are regulars at the market and they serve up some signature drinks that are Florida fresh. They're sharing their recipes with us.
The Hibiscus
by Steve
"The Hibiscus takes the acid and often too sweet old standby of orange juice and champagne to a more sophisticated level. Drink too many regular style mimosas and being drunk won't be the problem but acid indigestion! The Hibiscus takes care of that problem and adds just a hint of tart. Plus, we all know the health benefits of cranberry juice!"
-
8 ounces Brut Champagne
-
4 ounces 100% natural cranberry juice
Chill both items and do not add ice.
The Flying Flamingo
by Denise
"The Flying Flamingo takes our honorary state bird and adds a touch of sweetness from the fresh orange juice to the tart of the cranberry. The color is unique because a lot of folks think it is grapefruit juice. However it combines the great attributes of sweet (orange juice) and tart (cranberry juice) for a wonderfully refreshing cold beverage."
