RECIPE
This is the perfect accompaniment to summer fruits, or use it as an ideal frosting for cakes and cupcakes. It’s so easy, but utterly fabulous. If using as a frosting, be sure to store frosted cake(s) in the refrigerator. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
1 cup chilled whipping cream
1/4 cup chilled sour cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Using electric mixer, beat all ingredients in large bowl until stiff peaks form. Makes about 2-1/3 cups.
Variation: Lemon Crème Fraîche
Prepare as directed above, but substitute 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice and 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest for the vanilla.
