If you are anything like me, you have envisioned of having a fantastic summertime BBQ but have never quite got around to throwing one. But this summer I refuse to let the summer pass and not have a BBQ for my friends and family to enjoy! So in order for you and I to have the best BBQ on the block, I have for a list of hot recipes to make it one to remember.
Drinks
Mixing different friend groups can always be a challenge, so in order to lighten the tension and to take a little bit of the pressure off of you as the host, be sure to have an assortment of drinks at the ready.
Having beers and cokes over ice is a must but don’t forget to make a punch bowl because it works as a great alternative for large groups of people. Blue Lemonade is a very simple mix that can keep your guests occupied and impressed by your fancy looking drinks. With only 4 ingredients (water, Kool Aid®, Blue Curacao liqueur & vodka) it is effortless to whip up. Drinks Mixer, a site that has compiled a glossary of different drink combinations, also provides a serving generator. Type in the number of people you will be hosting and it will suggest the amount of each ingredient for the selected serving size. To add a decorative twist to your Blue Lemonade try adding Lemon Spirals into the punch bowl.
Appetizers
Mingling amongst strangers as well as friends cannot be complete without a plate of calorie-stacking delights! Simply Recipes has a long list of munchies that will make you stand out from other BBQs throughout the summer. Of course it is important to have staple items such as the veggie platter and chips but be sure to include handcrafted dishes such as the Seven Layer Bean Dip or Crispy Onion Rings. Adding a homemade touch to the menu is important because it provides an edge of flavor that no grocery store could ever reproduce.
BBQ
As I mentioned in the beginning, this is all about having the best BBQ in town. So it should come as no surprise that I am incorporating unique options into the mix to make your grilled entrees unprecedented. Delish has created a list of Out-of-the-Ordinary Recipes for the Grill that throws a curveball of variety to the average BBQ seen throughout the season. I suggest trying the Tarragon Pork Tenderloins paired with grilled grapes or Grilled Green Tomato Focaccia Sandwiches to make the afternoon unforgettable. Vegetarian? Not to worry because Delish has compiled an even bigger list for grilled vegetable concoctions in their Go For It Grilling: 21 Recipes for Grilled Vegetables.
