It’s that time of year again for us college students….finals. Whether you have a long couple weeks of finals or that one extremely stressful week at the end of the semester, finals are nothing but nerve-racking and overwhelming. Highlighters, pens, pencils, flash cards, outlines, all-nighters, long library hours… the list could go on and on. All the exams, projects, essays, and assignments really start to add up and it seems almost impossible to accomplish.
Finals time is just overall overwhelming. For those of you who wait until the last minute, good luck. For those of you who plan ahead of time, good luck. No matter how well you plan or how well you prioritize finals week is still very stressful for everyone.

You just have to remember, just a week or couple of weeks full of hard work and then it will be over…and then it will be summer! I’m sure that thought alone can get you through finals. But if it can’t, here is one special suggestion for how to deal with finals week and all the anxiety that comes with it: Coffee.
Caffeine is such an integral part of surviving finals week; it seems to be the go-to drink for this time of year. It is a savior during a time when all we want to do is sleep for 24 hours straight. Just remember, it’s almost summer. Work your hardest for these last couple weeks and then you’re done.
Even if you aren’t a struggling college student right now dealing with finals, that’s okay too. Coffee is clearly for everyone…it’s a good pick-me-up during a long day at work. And it’s always fun to get together with friends for an amazing cup of coffee where you can share stories, laughs, and have an overall great, stress-free time.
Boston definitely has its fair share of Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks….some of us can’t live without visiting these coffee kings at least once a day! But there are other places to get a great cup of coffee in Boston. Here is what Boston has to offer: There are numerous coffee shops in Boston including Thinking Cup, Wired Puppy, Pavement Coffeehouse, Equal Exchange Café, and Polcari’s Coffee. In Cambridge there is 1369 Coffee House, Voltage Coffee & Art, Simon’s Coffee Shop, Crema Café, and Andala Café.
So don’t stress during finals, or just in general. Take some time for yourself, take a break, and visit one of these great coffee shops in Boston. Everyone needs a break once in a while so make it a fun one with friends and a great cup of coffee to forget about all the other things that are going on in your life. Enjoy!
