It’s time to fire up those grills! In the summertime, everything tastes better with a little char on it. While cook-out staples such as hot dogs, chicken, and burgers are expected at barbeques, they can get repetitive. Surprise your family or dinner guests by incorporating a Colorado favorite into your grilling menu.
Colorado is known for its wild game, so throw some buffalo burgers or elk on the grill instead of the traditional ground beef or steak. For a yummy seasonal side dish, personal chef Jil Doughtie says Olathe sweet corn is her favorite option in Colorado. Chef Jil says, “Whether shucked and charred or sauced and covered back with it's own husk, this is my go-to summer side. Grilled corn can be added to almost anything from salads, salsas and relishes, hot or cold soups, quinoa or cous cous, filling for chicken, beef or fish, the list does not end.”
The combination of succulent game and sweet corn will make you a BBQ legend. Be careful word doesn’t get out, otherwise you may have people from all over Denver lining up at your front door for dinner!
