Where Did Your Chevy Take You On Father’s Day

Doing some googling I wanted to know what the first crossover was from Chevy. I expected to see something from the 90s, and instead found the Equinox was actually the first of its kind for the brand. Interesting. So if my dad wanted something large to haul the family in back in the day, he would have more than likely made the choice of an Impala it seems.

Being the nerd I am, I find history and the way things evolve interesting. I don’t get into the technicalities of it but just to see photos and side by side stories of then and now, makes me smile. Imagine what my dad was doing on Fathers Day in his Chevy. He obviously didn’t use OnStar to find Parkland Putt Putt or the nearest Arby’s for lunch.

I doubt his car had a rear view camera, power seats, power windows, or even something called XM radio. Heck, I can’t even talk about the XM since even I don’t use it. But think of another 20 years from now when my own daughters are taking their dad out for the day in their Chevy. What will it look like by then?

Chevy Equinox: It’s a Crossover, Not a MiniVan

When I first heard of the Chevy Equinox, I learned that it’s a crossover vehicle.  What the heck does that mean?  It’s the combination of an SUV and a minivan.

Ahhhh, what the heck does THAT mean?

I shelved my confusion until I drove away.  The Equinox is a gorgeous car, but I didn’t appreciate this “crossover” until a few days later, when I realized that…

I can slide easily into the drivers seat instead of climbing up into a seat.

Our dogs can jump right into the car without a boost from us (although we still give them a boost – they’re my babies).

And there’s the rear storage area of an SUV combined with the roominess in the vehicle of a minivan.  Open the doors and peek inside – this car is HUGE!  Making this the perfect family vehicle.

The Chevy Equinox isn’t just for families.   It’s a vehicle for dog loving, photographers!

All that room is perfect for loading up lighting equipment, backdrops, and props and heading off to a photography shoot.  The rear seats can be adjusted back to fit our dogs comfortably OR we can lower those seats to give them all the rear space to make the longer drives more comfortable.

The USB outlet is great for listening to photography podcasts through the car’s speaker system, charging my other electronics, and the center console is deep enough to hold my purse or my laptop.

And this photographer looks great driving the cool Equinox.  I’m a busy gal and I’m enjoying driving a car that lets me get things done on the road. You can read Kimberly's original post here.
