Make It An Eggs-tra Special Easter In Denver
Make It An Eggs-tra Special Easter In Denver

Easter has always been an especially important holiday in my family. Even though I now live six hours away from home, missing Easter Sunday would be unthinkable.  For my family, Easter is a holiday to come together and celebrate each other, to be reminded of our faith, and of course, to enjoy the foods we gave up for Lent (although we rarely follow through).

The activities available for the Easter season are numerous, and even as I grow older I find myself developing the same excitement for the season as I used to 10 or 15 years ago. Knowing that children are happily waiting in line at the neighborhood mall to see the Easter Bunny, seeing giant Easter egg hunts taking place, and reminiscing on coloring eggs with my grandmother and cousins as a youngster develops a nostalgia that is really only apparent during a truly important holiday. Seeing my family all together at church Easter Sunday morning and sharing stories amidst our six course Italian dinner are traditions that I not only cherish, but that I’ll be able to continue and pass down to my own children.

So whether you’re celebrating Easter or just having a relaxing Sunday on April 8, 2012, enjoy the precious moments and those people who are most important in your life.
