Everyone gets stuck trying to figure out what to do on a fun night out. Whether your looking for great date night ideas or a girls night out, its hard to get creative and many times you just end up going for dinner, drinks, and a movie. Don’t get us wrong, these ideas are fabulous and always end up being a blast, but let’s try mixing up the usual Saturday night lineup!
Dinner and drinks are staples of a night out, but instead of a corporate mainstream movie theater, venture to a local, small theater to catch a new variety of films. Often times these independent theaters have films that are not being advertised on every park bench or television commercial and are not available in regular theaters. Catch a new indie film or documentary that you wouldn’t otherwise normally see.
Throwing a new kind of film into the usual Saturday night mix can definitely spice things up! Not only will you experience a new venue, but you will have seen a movie where you’ll have more to say afterwards than just “Didn’t he look SO hot in that??” Go for drinks afterward and ponder the hidden meaning behind the film or just talk about it. Even though you will have basically done the same thing you do when you go out, it will definitely be a new experience and something to talk about.
Even if no one ends up liking the movie or the new theater, they do offer one thing that regular movie theaters don’t: Alcoholic Drinks. The new trend with mainstream theaters is to offer higher, inflated movie ticket prices for adults over 21 to eat dinner and get drinks while seeing the movie. But a big plus of small, independent theaters is that most of them already offer drinks and at a fraction of the price.
