Flower Power in Charlotte

Looking for a get-well gift?  Or a way to say I love you?  It’s simple: flowers.  A timeless, traditional and thoughtful way to tell someone you’re thinking of them.  Or maybe you’re just searching for something to spruce up the kitchen?  Nothing breathes life into a room like a fresh bouquet.

So here are some tips to consider when you’re putting together your beautiful bunch of flowers:

1. Pick up a vase from your local thrift store.  These quirky and original vases can not only be chosen to match the flowers but are often a cheaper option, leaving you more money to spend on flowers.

2. Supplement to your bouquet by picking flowers from your garden or local flowers.  Wild flowers can add some welcome color and variety, and don’t rule out ivy and the like -- embrace unexpected combinations!

3. Sunflowers.  The flower of summer is the sunflower, with its yellow coloring and large face.  So be sure to incorporate some of those into your summer bouquets (although they work well on their own as well!).

So GalTime had a look around; we smelled their scents and admired their petals, and came up with some places worth checking out this summer!

Nectar takes a chic and rustic approach to their flowers and we love it!  The store has an eclectic feel and it is certainly reflected in their bouquets.  Everything looks unique, fresh and bright and would certainly brighten up your kitchen!  Not only that, but also those working there are kind and can help you create exactly what you’re looking for.  So with that in mind, you know exactly where to head to this summer.

For a traditional bouquet with a healthy dose of color, make a trip over to Birmingham’s The Blossom Shop Florist.  Whether it’s roses or lilies that you’re after, this florist has what you’re after and what’s more, they know how to arrange it!

If you’re short on time, plan a trip to the Farmers Market At the Village At Robinson Farms, where you’ll be able to knock off several errands at the same place.  Pick up some fresh cut flowers and then nip over to one of the many fresh produce stands to get your weekly veg.  Furthermore, this market gives you the opportunity to support local farmers, so don’t miss out!

In the mean time, get out in the fresh air, tend to your flowers and revel in their quiet beauty.

Welcome!
