We all love our pets and in particular, our dogs, whether that manifests itself in a little pampering, a nice long walk, or simply snuggling up on the sofa. A dog’s need for daily exercise means that you too get the chance to go out and stretch your legs. And this sort of activity is a great way to meet like-minded, dog-loving people!
We don’t know about you, but we love to treat our furry friends to a little something every once and a while; a new toy to nibble on in the back yard, a Frisbee to throw in the park or some new doggie shampoo in another desperate (yet ultimately futile) attempt to finally rid them of that wet dog smell.
Well, whatever it is, we know where you should look for it! Having had a “sniff” around, we have decided that these are the top local spots.
Do you ever feel that twang of guilt looking into those sad, round, puppy dog eyes when you slink out the door to grab a cold one? Well, no longer! We’ve mentioned this place before, but we couldn’t write about pets without bringing up Charlotte’s very own Dog Bar. This place attracts many a friendly dog and serves up some delicious brews, so next time don’t leave the dog at home!
Caitlin’s Tender Love & Pet Care is more than just a pet kennel, offering everything from dog walking services to check-in visits and doggie day care. They even do pet taxi! It’s open 24/7 and caters to all of Charlotte, so don’t hesitate to call if you’re ever in a bind -- you’d be leaving your pet in the best hands around.
If your pup is craving a sweet treat (which we were are often guilty of ourselves) the Canine Café has everything you’re looking for and more! Their dog bakery cooks up a variety of freshly baked goods, such as puppy tarts. And that’s not all, they will also bathe your dog for $12, a massive savings from what most of your average groomers will charge you. Our favorite: a candle that targets that heavy dog smell, leaving your home smelling fresh and lovely.
