Summer is Full of Festivals in Knoxville | Fun Stuff

Summer is Full of Festivals in Knoxville
Summer is Full of Festivals in Knoxville

Can anybody think up a more perfect combination than sunshine and shopping? We didn’t think so… And summertime is the perfect place to get your fair on. Whether you’re in the market for (pun intended!) antiques, books, or crafts, summer festivals are the perfect way to spend a day off browsing endless rows of stalls and stands. You’re certain to find the perfect vintage gilded picture frame for your living room, or a one-of-a-kind hand stitched pillowcase to complement your newly refurbished couch. OK, so we’re getting a little carried away here, but these fairs are best during the summer months and you don’t want to miss out!

Knoxville PrideFest

If you’re looking for an incredibly fun day supporting a great cause, stop by the Knoxville PrideFest! Produced by the East Tennessee Equality Council supporting the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, and Transgender community, this year will see a record number of sponsors and vendors involved. That means more food, music, facepaint, activities, and fun! Mark your calendars for June 23 and support others living with pride!

The Festival on the Fourth

July 4 is fast approaching, and is one of the best holidays of the year, in our opinion! What’s more fun than a day filled with fireworks, food, and family on a beautiful summer day? Celebrate with vendors, food, and music at The Festival on the Fourth with the City of Knoxville! Plus, starting at 8PM, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will kick off the 28th Annual Pilot Independence Day Concert on the World’s Fair Park’s South Lawn. So grab your picnic blankets, lawn chairs and get comfortable for a day of patriotism and fun!

East Tennessee History Fair

Sure, summer is a great time to let kids and teens relax a bit from the stress of the school year. But that doesn’t mean that the learning should stop, and that goes for all age groups! So stop by the East Tennessee History Fair and celebrate and commemorate the Civil War and other historical events! With local historical organizations, museums, and musicians partaking, the festival will showcase plenty of fun and educational activities for friends and family.

OutDoor KnoxFest

There’s nothing stopping you from getting out and embracing nature except, maybe, a few episodes of Mad Men. But still! It’s good to get out and get some fresh air and exercise while setting a good example for others around us. So partake in the OutDoor KnoxFest 2012, a three-day urban adventures for anyone and everyone who loves to get up and get outside! The festival includes an adventure race, trail race, bike time trial, waterfront activities, history hike, and much more! This is a great event for the entire family!

Knoxville has plenty of fairs and festivals throughout the summer! Be sure to also check out Boomsday, Powwow and Heritage Festival, Mopar Car Show (for the boys!), and the KUUMBA Festival
