It is recommended you go to a salon, but anyone can cut your hair if you follow the guidelines set forth by Locks of Love. Hair that has been permed or colored is acceptable, but bleached hair is not. Gray hair is accepted. Hair that has been dreaded can not be used. Only hair that is in a ponytail or braid can be accepted. If you plan on shaving off your hair, divide it up into sections and use ponytail elastics before you cut it off. Hair must be at least 10 inches to be accepted. You can have layered hair as long as the shortest layer is the required 10 inches. Only real human hair is accepted.
Place the ponytail of hair into a padded envelope to be mailed. If you want confirmation, you can go to the Locks of Love website and download the form to send with your hair.
