It’s time for a girls’ weekend out. Grab your sister, daughter, mother, friends and head down to the 23rd Annual Northwest Women’s Show, which opens its doors 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, at the Qwest Field Event Center, and goes on through to Sunday evening, March 6. Discussions on topics ranging from health and fitness to financial management and creativity will be offered on 5 different stages. Wine tastings, giveaways, opportunity drawings and schwag abound, and the celebrities in attendance will include Ann Rule and her daughter Leslie Rule, as well as Ali Vincent, a fan favorite winner of The Biggest Loser.
This year’s designated local non-profit beneficiary of the show is the Young Survival Coalition of Seattle. Representatives of the Young Survival Coalition will participate in the ‘Bags & Baubles’ sale on Saturday morning. They will also be available in the wine tasting, which will include approximately twelve different wineries, and they will benefit from the script and bottle sales. The Young Survival Coalition is dedicated to addressing the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections, and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful.
Karen Krape, one of the show’s original organizers along with Margo Wakefield, stated that the show was developed with the goal of providing local women “a day of learning, exploring, shopping and fun. It is an event where you can spend a day with your friends, moms, daughters in an interesting and exciting place, geared towards offering women information and products that are important to them.”
“The show organically changes every year with different businesses and sponsors. We try very hard to feature speakers and features that are current and fresh.”
