The folks at Walt Disney World are always coming up with innovative ideas at the parks. I appreciate any good idea that can help reduce lines - especially in the busy summer months. Most kids adore any opportunity to get some face time with Mickey Mouse. And sometimes one meeting just isn't enough. (Believe me, I know! I've waited in several lines so that my daughter could give her favorite character a big hug. We have at least a dozen photos of her with Mickey Mouse.) But the lines can get long quickly for any character, in particular the most popular guy at the park.
Later this spring, Mickey Mouse will be moving to a new, permanent location in Town Square. Magic Kingdom guests will be able to get a FASTPASS ticket that locks down a one-hour window during which they can see Mickey Mouse. This is the first time that a FASTPASS has been offered for a character meet-and-greet at any Disney Park. This is good news because avoiding a long line will help ensure a happy photo rather than a grumpy one.
Right now, Imagineers are transforming Town Square Theater to host Mickey and his guests. Disney describes the venue as, "a marquee that glistens with gold-leaf trim and sparkles with lights. Inside, there's a mosaic floor, lush curtains with gold rope tie-backs and polished-brass chandeliers." Guests are taken "backstage" to find Mickey waiting to greet them in a rehearsal-room environment that includes posters, steamer trunks and stage props.

If it sounds royal, it is! Perhaps because Disney Princesses will also be in Town Square Theater to meet-and-greet their "loyal subjects."
