Orlando's The Number One Spring Break Spot | Great Escapes

Orlando's The Number One Spring Break Spot
Orlando's The Number One Spring Break Spot

Prepare yourselves. The list of the top ten destinations for Spring Break is out. According to the travel website, Orbitz.com, Orlando is the most popular desination for Spring Break-ers this year.

Florida is actually the state to travel to this Spring. Four Florida cities made the top ten list.

Here's the list of top cities for 2011 Spring Break travel:

  1. Orlando

  2. Las Vegas

  3. Cancun

  4. Phoenix

  5. Fort Lauderdale

  6. Fort Myers

  7. Tampa

  8. New York

  9. Los Angeles

  10. Denver

If you plan to flee the Orlando-area on your Spring Break, Orbitz has some advice for you:

  • Consider Off-Season City Escapes. Orbitz says that travelers can save money by considering a city escape, especially in a destination in its off-season like Chicago or Boston. "Hotels in big-city, off-season destinations will likely have excess inventory and are offering deals that will be hard for travelers to pass up," says Orbitz.com Senior Travel Editor, Jeanenne Tornatore.

  • Search for Hotel Promotions. "Looking for hotel promotions like 4th night free, 'kids stay free' or 'kids eat free' is a great way to save money on a Spring getaway," continues Tornatore.

  • Package Deals are "Savings" Gold.  Travel sites like Orbitz make it quick and easy to see all flight and hotel package options and what you will save by booking items together.

What plans do you have for Spring Break? Staying in town or escaping the crowds?
