Haircuts
Getting a haircut, perm or style has always been a chore worthy the least amount of time you could spare. Looking good while not giving up too much of your time or self.
At Pure Aveda a haircut becomes an experience. For the same quality price (pricing based on the level of stylist, with all being trained to the Aveda standards, and so far, worth what we’ve paid) you’ll start with a welcome, your head massage (I dare you to stay awake), a cup of soothing tea or refreshing cucumber water, and then shampooing.
Following your shampoo in one of their recliner chairs worthy a game on TV or nap, a hand massage sets your mind to peace before the cutting begins. If you’ve made it this far without falling asleep, you can partake in a conversation with your stylist. The staff here is always friendly. They welcome you back each time as friends coming home.
Return to your cutting chair and get a haircut that will leave you smiling and wanting to return for more. Haircuts aren’t just a job, they’re an experience.
Take note, we’ve had all good stylists, but our favorite on-tap is Melanie who took Laura’s long curls and re-coifed them back to the handsome, professional, actress-come-everyday, stylish woman greeted with enthusiasm by all who know her. Mel equally artistically gave me the cut that keeps my not-so-head-handy abilities going strong.
Facials
Assistant Laura and I were invited to experience the fuller, pamper-yourself offerings of Pure Aveda, with Laura partaking in a facial. I am jealous. Why? Because from the moment Lindsay stated it was with full relaxation that Laura’s face was tweaked and treated with a joyful experience.
Begin with your foot massage and cleaning, easing yourself into the experience at hand. Move into the room aptly soothing and calm where you’ll undress and ready.
Now the experience takes another step forward. No chemicals here, but a nod to Mother Earth with the creams, concoctions and potions that make your skin and face feel like they’re at the Disney World for skin comfort.
Lindsay examined Laura’s face for damage and was later able to use all the information garnered throughout to help Laura know what to choose to “take the experience home.”
Massage
My turn also began with the foot massage and cleaning; let the drooling begin. I succumb here; Pure Aveda is my Achilles’ heel. I’ve never been a girly-girl nor that “product type,” but at Pure Aveda I’m discovering the “Product Diva” within.
“Experience Diva” is equally happy.
Slipping into the massage room I readied for the experience, stripping only halfway – our experiences were complimentary and only half as long – and ready for Lindsay to return. Laura slipped in with her, took a few photos, and left me to it.
The quiet of a massage room, the soothing of the scents, the able hands, this was a joy-filled luxury I deeply appreciated. I’ve had massages, but Lindsay listened to what I wanted – and didn’t – and through her able fingers, took away a month’s worth of stress.
Certainly there are plenty of massage options out there, but Pure Aveda is a keeper.
Standing above most of the rest, you get the relaxation with the environmental care, the great staff with the excellent service.

No pressure here, they’ll show you what your body can use, what’s great to buy, but never once have we been nor seen anyone put pressure on to actually buy.
But buy we occasionally do. Hair stuff such as shampoo comes home, an eye area wrinkle cream for my aging eyes – hey, vanity now runs amok in my diva ways – as well as an amazing product – the Blue Oil – that I’ve come to rely on after truly stress-filled days.
Products do cost and you’ll likely find yourself leaving with the bag half-full, yet returning to pick it up next time the budget allows. Overall costs are very reasonable, especially where haircuts are concerned.
Pure Aveda is at once a neighborhood store full of friends there to take care of you and pamper-yourself-goodness for those times when you just have had enough.
