You can chose a healthier life and it's simple!!
Follow the American Heart Association’s “Simple Seven” at mylifecheck.heart.org
- Get Active -- Exercise is the best thing you can do for your heart – everyday for 30 minutes
- Control Cholesterol – Get rid of those trans fats! Minimize the oil, butter, cheese!
- Eat better-- Best advice I can give: If it has a label, it's likely not great for your body. Ever see a label on a pear?? Eat veggies and fruits. They are great source of nature's vitamins and fiber!
- Manage Blood Pressure Exercise, lower your salt intake and actually get your blood pressure checked!
- Lose weight—What should your BMI be?? Find out
- Reduce Blood Sugar Lower your refined carbohydrates and be careful with alcohol. Lots of sources of sugar are just empty calories your body cannot use well. High sugar levels cause your heart and arteries to work much harder.
- Stop Smoking-- I honestly cannot think of a benefit of tobacco. Anything that has a “Surgeon General Warning “ on it doesn’t belong in your body.
