It's no secret every bride wants to look good on her wedding day--after all, those pictures last for-EVER! I, myself a bride this past April, must admit I dieted up a storm before the big day!
Was giving up ice cream and pizza really necessary? Or, should I have simply invited a couple of my more voluptuous friends to stand up with me instead?
Yes, ladies, it's true. Bridezillas are now reportedly choosing fatter friends to serve as bridesmaids--just so they'll look thinner walking down the aisle. In fact, according to a recent survey (by Slim Fast) one third of British women admitted they'd choose overweight bridesmaids--just so they'd feel better about themselves on the big day. And it goes beyond the bridal party, too. Forty percent admitted that having slim guests mingling around the reception would make them feel self-conscious.

Come on. Is this really happening? Have we truly become THIS insecure? It makes me wonder if some brides-to-be need to trim a little off their wedding budget and spend the cash on counseling instead.

In addition, we've got bridal botox and lipo and nose jobs and chemical peels all scheduled before the big day. (Okay, I admit to having the last.) Expressions of love and commitment are continually sidetracked by extreme makeovers. Sometimes I wonder if the groom will even recognize his transformed bride as she walks down the aisle.
How about this, brides-to-be? Instead of going through drastic measures to look good for just one day--like leaving your skinny BFF off the invite list--why not attempt to accentuate what you already have and show it off in the best light possible? After all, that's the person your husband-to-be fell in love with to begin with!
