Do short, bearded men clad in green, holding food coloring-infused ales, seem sexy to you? Ahh, OK. Does it at least make you think of St. Patrick's Day?
Whether you're one of those people who goes the extra mile to throw on every single green accessory known to man, making yourself look like a Christmas tree in June, or someone who wears every color but green on March 17th, we have tips for you on a DIFFERENT WAY TO SPEND THE DAY. It's not all about pubs, parades and parties, you know.
There’s another side to St. Patrick’s Day that even the Grinch (no pun intended) could enjoy. The romantic, sexy side. Yes, really! We turned to renowned relationship expert Alisa Ruby Bash for her top tips on how to make this year’s holiday one that neither you nor your partner will ever forget!
Things to do on St. Patrick’s Day with your man:
Spend some quality time outdoors, somewhere green (if your weather permits). Perhaps go for a hike, a bike ride, or have a picnic with your guy. Pack up a bottle of wine, some Irish beer, and cheese and crackers. Wear green and playfully entice your partner to help you look for four leaf clovers, indulging in a reward each time you find one!
If there’s snow or puddles on the ground outside, stick to the indoors. Who says that picnics are only for outside? Light a fire or some green candles and cuddle. Cook a delightful Irish meal of corned beef, green salad, and potatoes. Add some brownies with shamrocks for dessert and a pot of chocolate gold coins with some naughty suggestions mixed in with them.
Since it is a lucky night, take some time to talk about your dreams with your partner. Or pretend that the two of you just met at a bar and flirtatiously imply that he’s going to get lucky. To complete this role, add a beverage of Guinness, a mint Sake cooler, or a traditional Irish Mead into the mix. Don’t forget to wear a pair of sexy green panties to complete the mood!
Finally, for an added effect, create a treasure hunt using green Hershey kisses that lead to your partner to a romantic end-of-the-rainbow.
Lastly, I leave you with an Irish toast: "May the light always find you on a dreary day. When you need to be home, may you find your way. May you always have courage to take a chance. And never find frogs in your underpants.”Alisa Ruby Bash is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Beverly Hills, CA.
