No matter what kind of taxpayer you tend be, we all have to pay our taxes at least once a year.  But depending on how much you make, whether you own your own business, invest, consult or freelance, you may have more tax due dates and paperwork to worry about than the average April filer.

Get organized for the rest of the year NOW with this Fab & Fru cheat sheet compiled by the Shriver & Company accounting firm. By putting the dates that apply to you directly into your calendar, you will not only help yourself avoid late fees, you will also save yourself from serious stress & panic when the next filing date suddenly rolls around! (Of course, you know the biggie date of April 18th filing date has already passed. If you missed that one, you may want to talk to your accountant.)

May 16, 2011

  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in April for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and nonpayroll withholding.

June 15, 2011

  • Second quarter estimated tax payments are due for individuals.
  • Second quarter estimated tax payments are due for trusts.
  • Second quarter estimated tax payments are due for calendar-year corporations.
  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in May for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and non-payroll withholding.

July 15, 2011

  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in June for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and non-payroll withholding.

August 1, 2011

  • The second quarter Form 941 (Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return) is also due today. (If your tax liability is less than $2,500, you can pay it in full with a timely filed return.) If you deposited the tax for the quarter in full and on time, you have until August 10th to file the return.
  • If you have employees, a federal unemployment tax (FUTA) deposit is due if the FUTA liability through September exceeds $500.
  • Pensions, profit sharing, or stock bonus plans must file Form 5500, or request an extension.

August 15, 2011

  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in July for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and non-payroll withholding.

September 15, 2011

  • Third quarter estimated tax payments are due for individuals.
  • Third quarter estimated tax payments are due for trusts.
  • Third quarter estimated tax payments are due for calendar-year corporations.
  • If a six-month extension was obtained, calendar-year corporations should also file their income tax returns by this date.
  • Partnerships that received an additional five-month extension must file their Forms 1065 today.
  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in August for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and non-payroll withholding.

October 17, 2011

  • Personal returns that received an automatic six-month extension must be filed today and any tax, interest, and penalties due must be paid.
  • If the monthly deposit rule applies, employers must deposit the tax for payments in September for social security, Medicare, withheld income tax, and non-payroll withholding.

October 31, 2011
