What's The One Thing You Did Growing Up That You Would NEVER Let Your Kids Do?
What's The One Thing You Did Growing Up That You Would NEVER Let Your Kids Do?

Remember when you used to listen to your parents say all the guidance-laden things parents do and you thought, "They don't know what they're talking about"? You were a teenager who knew EVERYTHING. Nothing --and no one-- could stop you. The world was your oyster. Fast forward to today. Somehow, YOU'RE the parent looking at childhood in the rear-view mirror. (How, exactly do we flip roles so quickly? That is a topic for another time.) Now, you're the one spouting off comments to your kids: "Be careful. You don't realize it, but a single action can change your life forever." Are we really talking like that? YES, of course we are. We have to. We're parents. Yet, we look back on our childhood all the time with fond memories. We got away with a lot more 'then' than kids can today. For better or worse, 'things' are different. It's not as easy for 'kids to be kids.'  When we were growing up, a mischievous teenager who made a mistake was brought home to his or her parents where punishments were handed out and lessons were learned. Nowadays, those same 'mistakes' stay on records, get posted forever on the Internet, impact college admissions, job applications, etc.

It got us to thinking. Are there things you've done (even if they were some of your most fun moments) that you would NEVER let your kids do? If so, what? Also, is it because times have changed or simply because you're a grown-up now and you know better? Do you agree that it's harder to be a kid now? Let us know...we want to hear from you!
