... and what should I do about it? What are the risks if the condition isn't treated?
Bruxism (teeth grinding) is usually discovered by either parents and/or dentists. Parents usually hear the child grinding their teeth while they are sleeping. Dentists usually discover bruxism during dental examination by wear presented on the child’s teeth. It is very common for children to grind their teeth at some point in the lives. Usually no treatment is needed. However, in extreme cases bruxism splints and crowns are used to protect the teeth.
