Are You Feminine or Manly? Why Do We Label Everything? | Positive Thinking

Are You Feminine or Manly? Why Do We Label Everything?
Are You Feminine or Manly? Why Do We Label Everything?

Isn't it almost always the truth that we go through life making decisions that are pretty black and white?

Feeling happy or sad…
Asking "Do I look pretty or ugly today?"
Saying "My butt looks big in these jeans" or "My butt looks flat in these jeans…"
Feeling smart or dumb…
Thinking you're either lonely or not lonely…
Identifying as a leader or a follower…
Thinking "I'm a sweet girl" or "I'm a take-charge girl…"

With all these black and white labels, I'm aware we might want to consider a new way of thinking. Could we perhaps give up the labeling? And if we did, what would life look like?

Would your day be more relaxed?
Would you love yourself more?
Would you be more present in the moment?
Would your happiness expand beyond what you can comprehend at this moment?
Would loving yourself be simple?
Would you feel sexy and smart in the same exact moment?

For me, the most recent label that comes to mind is my feminine "girlie" energy and my male "powerful" energy. How many times have you wondered into what category you fit? Girlie or powerful?

I want us to explore, accept and really drink up that we can be both. We can have our girlie moments, which may look like:

  • Being scared to death of spiders
  • Feeling not so safe when walking down a dark street
  • Preferring someone else take out the garbage
  • Loving to wear pretty clothes, shoes and jewelry
  • Smelling fresh and feeling sexy
  • Loving quiet time with candles, a semi-dark room and a little reality TV
  • Allowing for shifts to occur

And then there's this part of me that has what's been known as male energy. It's the part that may look like:

  • Powerfulness
  • Decisiveness
  • Doing, doing, doing
  • Give me a list and I'll go through it faster than you've seen; I love the act of crossing through a to-do list
  • Loves meetings where we make decisions and set big goals
  • Leadership qualities
  • Lacking all rhythm (Must have a bit of humor about ourselves!)

What's important is that we allow and take in that we're simply beautiful as is, and there is no useful reason to label or confine ourselves to a specific way of being in this world.

Take a deep breath in, release the furrow in your brows, allow your shoulders to drop down to where they're comfortable, and bring these words from your breath into the Universe

I AM WHOLE. I AM ME. I AM EVERYTHING, and I AM MORE THAN ENOUGH.

Try to go a day without labeling yourself or anyone around you. Just be with it all. With this new way of being in the world, you'll begin to feel more ALIVE and AWAKE.
Am I a man or a woman? I am simply ME!

I'm sending love and heartfelt moments to each of you amazing women as you drink in your amazing self: powerful, cries when she sees a sad movie, thrives being a leader and mentor, and at the same time feels her best in high heels and with an amazing handbag.
