Knowing What You've Got BEFORE It's Gone

    DayStarter:

It is so easy to get caught up in your life and forget the amazing blessings you have. It all comes down to perspective and complacency.

When something is new in your life, you are excited, your senses are heightened, your awareness is at a peak. Remember the feeling the first time you had your own car? Just to get into the driver's seat was a thrill.

Soon, the car became a 'vehicle' in the truest sense of the word, a means to get you where you needed to go, but the excitement you felt at first gradually lessened as your perspective shifted.

The same holds true with life - because you are familiar with what is around you, your perspective shifts as well.

You no longer fully appreciate the health that you have, the people in your life, the work that you do, the home that you live in, and yes, the car that you drive. You have become complacent about your life.

It is only when there is a threat to any of those important people and things you take for granted that the sense of awareness increases again.

Instead of having loss or the threat of loss invoke your appreciation, today, take a moment to contemplate the blessings in your life and give thanks.

Tell the significant people in your life what they mean to you.

Regain a perspective of gratitude and enjoy how beautiful the world instantly becomes.

Who will you thank today?
