Disney's Artsy New Resort Now Open | Great Escapes
There's a new place to stay next time you visit Disney. Just in time for the busy summer season, the first phase of Art of Animation Resort is now open.
Finding Nemo is open now and has plenty to offer guests. The rooms are suites and can accommodate a family of six. Inside the rooms you'll find:
-
A separate bedroom and private bathroom.
-
A living room with a sofa sleeper as well as a dining room table that converts to a bed.
-
A kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee pot, etc.
-
Two bathrooms - one off the living room and one in the bedroom.
-
Fun decorative features in the theme of the movie, Finding Nemo, like coral shaped chairs, bubble lights and themed art.
The massive swimming pool, called "Big Blue," is the largest pool at the Walt Disney World Resort. It measures nearly 12,000 square feet. There's a splash area, too. Around the pool there's more Nemo themed stuff like Crush and a giant Mr. Ray with a wing span of 27 feet!
There are several dining options on property including The Landscape of Flavors food court with a variety of items like fresh smoothies, gelato and Mongolian barbecue. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The rest of the resort opens in phases throughout the summer. Cars opens on June 18th and The Lion King opens August 10th. Both of these wings are family suites. The final phase, The Little Mermaid wing, opens on September 15th. The Little Mermaid wing has standard guest rooms.
This is a Walt Disney World value resort. Rates start at $248 for suites and $94 for the standard rooms which sleep four. Resort guests have complimentary transportation as well as Extra Magic Hours.
