About the Author
TV host, spokesperson, news anchor, writer and producer....Callie Zanandrie has been in the television industry for more than a decade, and has extensive experience in-front and behind the camera. From commercials to live election coverage, Callie brings class and professionalism to every job. Her passion for journalism started in the fifth grade when her elementary school chose her to represent them as the Channel Six Kids Correspondent for PBS. It was there she got her first taste of news and she has been hooked ever since! As a Colorado native, it was the 1999 tragedy at Columbine that devastated the nation that made Callie realize the power of media to get information to the public that could be informative and educational. She decided to fulfill her dream of news reporting, and has stayed true to her journalistic ethics of telling a balanced and accurate story that viewers can relate to and/or learn from. In 2007, she realized her true passion was in the TV industry and received her degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science from the University of Colorado.
Her career began doing infomercials and theatre where she learned the art of public speaking and marketing. Her poise and presence soon allowed her numerous opportunities for on-camera and producing work in commercials and the local news. Her career took off quickly and for the next two years she was the weekend meteorologist and backpack news reporter for CBS 2 in Boise, Idaho; where she enjoyed writing, producing, shooting and editing a broad range of stories including local politics, business, education, crime and feature pieces. She was then promoted to weekend meteorologist and news reporter for ABC 7 in Florida. There she had the opportunity to participate in an active news and weather market covering hurricanes, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. She also had the chance to interview President Obama, Bill Clinton, Pervez Musharraf and Condoleezza Rice. In 2009, home was calling for this native Colorado gal, and she accepted a producing and fill-in traffic reporter position at KUSA 9News in Denver. Callie produced the first of its kind newscast where she was a one-woman news gatherer; writing, editing and producing a half-hour daily newscast. As a veteran television producer Callie decided to fulfill her dream of creating inventive programming for television. In 2009, Callie joined High Noon Entertainment, one of the nation’s leading providers of story-driven, unscripted reality entertainment. Known for thinking outside-the-box, Callie has worked on creating programming for HGTV and the DIY Network. Callie’s trademark is her attention to detail and an ability to bring the very best out of subjects. In 2011, she proudly joined GalTime as the Lead Denver Ambassador.
