About the Author
After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2007 and moving back home to Scottsdale to pursue a career in Public Relations I have found that my niche is socializing and attending events. Ever since I was a little girl I have been going to corporate parties and sporting events with my parents and have fallen in love with not only the show or experience but seeing the different types of people that attend each outing.
Growing up in Arizona and being 5th generation Arizonan, I have seen Phoenix grow. Queen Creek was considered a “road-trip” away and Desert Ridge was home to coyotes and tortoises and is now a great a shopping center. I am excited to see what else is in store for Phoenix. Like my parents, I have fallen in love with the state and can see myself raising a family here one day.
I will be starting my new job at The Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation in the next few weeks helping in their Communications and Special Events Department. After working with Bartholomeaux Public Relations for 18 months on a variety of charitable events I realized being an Event Coordinator is my calling. Working isn’t my only pastime but I also enjoy traveling and trying new things. My younger sister also enjoys traveling and we have both been fortunate to have lived in London and have done extensive traveling through Europe.
One of my goals is to visit all of the continents; I have been to three and would like to continue seeing the World. People often do not realize how big of a world we live in and I enjoy experiencing new cultures and making lifelong memories. I would consider myself a risk taker and have endured some interesting experiences including skydiving, white water rafting, traveling alone in Ibiza, and waterfall rappelling.
In high school my friends called me “the party planner” and I would be the one arranging our evenings according to what was going on and I seem to still be the one doing that today. My friends and family are the most important things in my life so any get together whether it is a dinner date or a baseball game at the Diamondbacks stadium we always manage to have the time of our life. I try to live every day to the fullest and to remember that we only live once and to never have any regrets. One of my favorite quotes from a favorite actress, Judy Garland, “Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.”
