When Should You Break Up With Your Hair Stylist? | Beauty

I did it. I cheated. I never wanted it to happen, but she just wasn't "cutting" it anymore. I've been going to the same hair stylist for a while. She's done many different things to my hair, even styled it for my wedding. However, lately, she hasn't really had the "umph" anymore that I fell in love with and that made me want to call her my stylist.

The last couple of times I was been pretty disappointed with my results. So, I went to someone different. Actually, it was my old stylist. I felt weird going to her for a couple different reasons:

1. I haven't seen her in a while and I know she knows I've gone elsewhere. 

2. I never really said a formal "goodbye" to my current stylist. Was that wrong of me to just leave things unsaid? Disappointment unknown? Or should I have told her that things are just not working out and let her know why? Maybe she was having a bad day? A bad day for my last 2 visits, a 3 month radius? Probably not.

I don't know if it was wrong of me to not properly "break up" with her. Should I have given her another chance and possibly been disappointed again? Or should I be happy like I am currently with my previous hair stylist? I deserve to be happy -- and actually, I regret ever leaving my old stylist. 

What do you think? If you are disappointed with your stylist does she/he deserve a proper farewell? Or should you just never show up again? Should I feel guilty about never returning and going elsewhere? No, probably not. Might be selfish of me, but it's my head of hair and it's my money.

I feel that it's like any other sort of business; if you are not happy with the service, you don't return. So, why do I have a sense of guilt? Maybe it's just because I'm a nice person (or at least I like to think so). I wish there was some sort of rule book about breaking up with your hair stylist. Boy, do I wish there were in this case.
